Which personality assessment would you recommend for use by employers?

I would recommend the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. When choosing from the MBTI, the MMPI-2, the TAT, and the Rorschach Test, it comes down to the first two by process of elimination. The Thematic Apperception Test and the Rorschach Test are both defined as projective assessments, meaning that they are based on the way the client sees inkblots and silhouettes, and it's up to the therapist to decide what their interpretations mean. It is not considered very reliable or valid. The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (second version) is a long series of true-false questions. Out of all of them, however, the MBTI is the most efficient, the most unbiased, and it gives valid results in less time, with no hired therapist needed, as it's online. This allows for time and money saved in the process of screening employees. The MMPI-2 has 567 items, and would be far too tedious for the companies to go through.

Describe the reliability and validity of the assessment you chose. Does the reliability and validity of the assessment support the employer’s case or the employee’s case in the above article? How?

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is very reliable, especially in comparison to the other three tests. The TAT and Rorschach test are both subjective and rely on the interpretation of what the client sees by the therapist. the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (version 2) is very reliable but, as stated above, is very time-consuming. The MBTI can be taken online and is both professional and unbiased, as well as being more efficent in delivering the results. It supports the employer's case, because it chooses from sixteen possible personality combinations and can help identify what the employer is looking for; a focused, introverted individual that can guarantee safety and good work ethic in regards to the train. It can give them the results and they may narrow down their employee list based on those that most closely match that combination that they had set aside beforehand. While no test is completely accurate, the MBTI does a very good job and usually predicts the personality of the individual well.
