Treating Client B - Generalized Anxiety Disorder

Client B has been diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Given that she is still in high school, a psychotherapeutical approach should be taken, since she is not a legal adult as of now. She experiences difficulty breathing and chest tightness, but will likely see the symptoms decrease as she manages her anxiety. Client B should be given options to find a psychologist that will help coach her through her anxiety and keep her comfortable so not to trigger it. She should meet at least three times a week when manageable for her schedule before/after school.

Once Client B has found a psychologist that she is comfortable with and whom meets her requirements financially and in certifiability, she should regularly address them with concerns for her symptoms and in description of what sets her anxiety off. The psychologist should help coach her through these scenarios to reduce panicked reactions so that she may take logical steps forward. This way, she may improve her private life and keep her school career up. The psychologist and her family must be supportive and help her through issues that she has so that her anxiety will not be as much of a burden on her daily activities. If this treatment is successful it must be continued, and if not, other options should be sought for the client's sake.
